Sunday Club: Paste

Paste is one of the great joys of the 18th and 19th century and we can see why! Made out of glass, paste was not seen as faux gems made solely to copy, but as exciting jewels in their own right. Paste stones could be cut in any shape and size which meant that the setting could be nearly invisible. Paste stones were also foiled to add extra brilliance and further catch and reflect light. It is also coveted by the collectors of today like our shop and editor-in-chief of American Vogue:Anna Wintour. Wear it like Anna and pile it on! To view several more pairs of paste earrings, visit our Shop section or stop by the shop to see more of our paste necklaces.
