19th Century Woven Hair Bracelet


Victorian Era woven hair bracelet, with gold clasp and tassel details. Remarkably preserved twisted woven braids. English in origin. Circa 1860.

Made by Antoni Forrer, a premiere 19th century hair jeweler. Originally a Swiss jeweler from Winterthur, who lived and worked in London as an "artist in hair & jewelry, by appointment to the Queen". 

Reportedly from the estate of Ann Louise Luthi, one of the most prolific 21st century English collectors of hair jewelry. 

Gold engraved push clasp. Measures 6.75" in length. Due to the nature of the material and age of this collector's piece, the bracelet should be worn with great care.
