19th century diamond earring in a naturalist motif of flowers and leaves. Both old mine cut and rose cut diamonds are set in silver on gold settings. The realistic design is typical of the naturalist movement of the late 1860's which produced many exceptional diamond pieces in this style. The time period coincided with a newly discovered diamond source in Africa. English in origin. Circa 1860.
