17th Century Renaissance point cut diamond ring, with enamel details, high carat gold. Circa 1670, Western European in origin.
Until the 1730's India was the worlds single source for diamonds, making diamond jewelry from that time extremely rare. At the time diamonds were thought to possess magical properties and only the highest levels of society had the opportunity to buy and wear them.
Size 7.25, cannot be resized. Should be worn very carefully considering the age and delicacy of the piece.
