Our workshop is one of the last remaining of its kind. Hand fabrication has been all but abandoned for modern production and CAD manufacturing – the craftsmanship of the individual jeweler is a rarity.

At least six in-house team members handle these rings from the workshop to the website.

In the setting we have used traditional vitreous enamel, a painstaking process that was a prominent detail in many Victorian era jewels.  Our enamel color choice was influenced by 19th-century carved lava jewelry.  The carved stones, often referred to as lava, are actually lightweight rocks formed from volcanic ash. The stones are found in a variety of colors, our favorite being a soft gray with green undertones.

The soft slate color of the enamel draws its inspiration from antique lava jewelry—most notably, a pair of Georgian-era carved lava torpedo drop earrings from our archive.
