Antique Platinum and Gold Twin Snake Ring

Antique twin snake ring, in platinum and gold. This unusual example has two open mouthed snakes entwined around a rose gold band. A rare example of early platinum jewelry. Circa 1890. 

The band is a hollow construction and does show a bit of age with small denting. 

Size 5.25-5.5, it could be sized down with a sizing bar, but the construction does not allow increasing the size.
