Regency Era Geometrical Planes and Solids
London, England, circa 1820.
A wonderfully tactile object. These educational models were popular curiosities, reflecting Victorian fascination with structured, geometric beauty in both art and science. Diminutive wooden sculptures detail polygon shapes, accompanied by a booklet titled 'A List of the Polygons and Geometrical Solids'. The woodcut shapes are housed in the original box. The booklet is printed by W. Molinex,5, Bream's Buildings, Chancery Lane.
Small in size. The box measures 4" in diameter and the tiny sculptures vary in size, most measuring about 1".
