Early 20th Century Diamond and Opal Moth Brooch

Made at the turn of the last century, this insect pendant has a great play of colors. Old European cut diamonds are set in oxidized silver on 18k gold. The opal's colors are challenging to capture in photographs, exhibiting a soft green with flares of orange and pink. The moth has bright green emerald eyes and has thoughtful, engraved details on the antennae and legs. The pin element has original removable fittings, making it easily convertible into a pendant.
