Victorian era niello locket with intricate details.  An unusual shield shape reminiscent of a horseshoe depicts a royal rampant lion with a fleur-de-lis pattern on the verso. Additional minuscule fleur de lis wrap around the bale. Neillo is a process similar to enameling where a black alloy is inlayed into the silver. It opens to reveal two glass-glazed compartments for photographs or keepsakes. Continental European. Circa 1890.

Measures 1.75" in full length and 1.25" wide. Lockets and chains are sold separately. Antique chains are available in-store. Please call the shop to inquire.
