19th Century William De Morgan Ceramic Tile
England, 1890.
A decorative tile depicting a bird and a snake in a green and dark blue/black glaze. Some loss to glazing on the edge of the tile. See photos for details. Sands End factory mark on the back. Indicating the tile was made in London sometime between 1888 and 1907.
De Morgan was a contemporary of William Morris, often collaborating on work together.
The tile measures 6 inches by 6 inches.
