Our founders are Cyrus and Rhianna Shennum. In 2008, they brought their complimentary jewelry specialties together, creating the brand. Originally specializing in nineteenth-century jewelry and inspired by their travels, they named the shop after the Victorian-Era travelers Gertrude Bell and Isabella Bird.
Today, the brand has developed into a specialty shop, where we feature creations from our in-house workshop, source rare stones for collectors, and still offer uncommon antique jewelry but from more expansive periods.
Our primary focus is to help clients build well-curated collections to pass on to future generations.
We have affiliations with the American Gem Society (AGS) in the United States and The London and Provincial Antique Dealer Association (LAPADA) in the United Kingdom. Select staff members are credentialed through the Gemological Institute of America as well as the Gemmological Association of Great Britain. Past exhibitions have been held in New York, Miami, London, and Houston.
Our workshop has been commissioned to manufacture jewelry for private collections and has created settings for important stones sold in significant auctions worldwide. We have sourced antique jewelry featured in temporary and permanent exhibits at several prominent museums in the United States.
We use our years of experience and training to provide our clients with jewels with enduring value.
