19th Century Boxed Mouse Brooch by Child and Child

Amusing English Victorian era pin in high carat Gold. 4 curious mice, all with rose cut diamond eyes, sit together with their tails intertwined. These unlikely subjects for jewelry were often given as lucky charms.

The brooch remains in its original fitted box. Made by the firm of Child and Child, a Fine 19th Century London Jeweler.

An advertisement from July of 1880 featuring Thornhill's mouse jewellery can be seen in Jewellery in the Age of Queen Victoria, page 223.
