18th Century Iberian Gold and Emerald Earrings





18th century Iberian gold and emerald earrings. Hand made in 18k gold and emeralds, sourced in colonial mines in Columbia and Peru. Original, back to front ear hooks, typical for the period. Spanish in Origin, Circa 1750.
Earrings measure 1.75" wide at widest point with 2.75" drop.
The Iberian Peninsula produced outstanding jewels through the whole of the 18th century, but production came to an abrupt halt with Napoleon's invasion of Portugal in 1809.
