19th century old mine cut diamond drop earrings, in 18k gold settings. Cushion shaped old mine cut diamonds, approximately 0.50 carats each, I/J color and SI1 clarity. The diamonds are set in 6 prong claw settings, with floral and foliage details.
The earrings come with a set of period carriage/coach covers. Covers such as these were designed to disguise diamonds earrings that were worn while traveling in an open carriage. Hinged at the bottom, the earring covers are easily snapped on or taken off. English in origin. Circa 1980.
Measures 1.50" in drop length. On gold french hook earrings.
