19th Century Diamond Butterfly Locket
The butterfly was a common motif in 19th-century jewelry, often representing the beauty of transformation or new beginnings. This locket is made from a carved onyx stone with a glass compartment on verso with 15k gold details. The butterfly is set with old mine-cut diamonds and garnets for eyes. England, circa 1870.
