Diminutive Victorian Era Pearl and Diamond Acorn Necklace

Diminutive Victorian era acorn charm necklace. Rose cut diamonds set in silver with a natural pearl. English in origin. Circa 1870. Originally hanging on a Victorian Era hat pin. 

Acorns hold great symbolism as the small seed of the mighty oak tree. For centuries they have been used in decorative arts to represent potential, strength and longevity and the idea that great things can come from small beginings. 

Measures .50" drop length. Hanging on an antique 18k gold 16" chain. The chain is a Regency period micro-belcher link chain.  Circa 1820. English in origin.
