Petite Edwardian era Diamond and Sapphire Gold Locket

Early 20th-century diamond and sapphire locket in 18k gold. One old European cut diamond is set with a matched blue sapphire. The verso is hand engraved 1884 -1909 May 1". "MAY" is in French, which was customary to use the French language for tokens of love. All points lead to the piece having been made to celebrate a 25th anniversary. The original frame and glass are intact. Personal images can be placed in the locket. English in origin.
