Natural Sapphire set in Eight Prong Solitaire on Black Enamel Band

Classic eight prong solitaire ring on black enamel band.  The prongs are hand filed to precise delicate points and the hard vitreous enamel is traditionally applied.  This one of a kind ring features a central 2.40 carat cushion cut Sable Sapphire. The stone was responsibly sourced from a small mining operation in the Umba river valley of Tanzania. The stone is shallow in depth, allowing for a very low profile design.

Rings with enamel bands must be worn with some care as enamel is similarly hard to Quartz stones and will reveal wear over the years.

Handmade in our Texas workshop, this ring is in our custom blend of 18K rose gold. A more subdued, darker tone than commercially available rose gold. We call this color "old gold" and created the alloy in the spirit of the many 19th century rings we have handled.
