Georgian Garnet Pansy Earrings

The name Pansy is derived from the French word pensée meaning "thought". The flower  became synonymous with the phrase “thinking of you”, often as a gesture of sentiment. Here flat cut almandine garnets are set closed back in 9k yellow gold form a five petal pansy flower earring a symbolic token of love.  English in origin, found in London. Later ear wires. Circa 1800-30.
