Georgian era pearl and rose cut diamond tear pendant

A Georgian-era pearl and rose-cut diamond eye pendant in silver and gold.  Originally a brooch and converted into a pendant, the original pin hinge is still intact. English in origin, circa 1810.

Mourning jewelry was very common in the 18th and 19th centuries. This would have been made as a memorial piece to remember a lost loved one.
