Sterling Silver Hand Brooch Circa 1848 for Friendship

Remarkably realistic hand brooch. Jewelry in the form of hands was often given in the 19th Century as a gesture of friendship. Made in Sterling Silver, it is hallmarked  'H&T' for the maker Hilliard & Thomason and the date '30 March 1848'.  Hilliard & Thomason were among the exhibitors at the Great Exhibition of 1851 in London.

Brooch measures 3" long x 1.5" wide.
