Victorian Era Turquoise and Diamond Pansy Charm
England, circa 1850.
Old mine-cut diamonds, rose-cut diamonds, and Persian turquoise set in silver and gold, in the form of pansy flowers. The name pansy derives from the French pensée, meaning “thought.” The flower became synonymous with the sentiment “thinking of you” and was often given as a token of affection and remembrance.
