Victorian era Ruby and old mine cut Diamond Cluster Ring

Victorian era ring with four rubies and 28 old cut diamonds. Set in 18k gold. Four oval shaped central rubies surrounded by old mine cut and rose cut diamonds. Approximately 1.70 carats in total diamond weight, H-J color and SI2-I1 and 0.70 carats in rubies. English in origin. Circa 1890. Bright and bold look. 

In the 19th century ruby and diamond jewels were often given as love tokens. The rubies representing passion and the diamonds purity.
